MAJALENGKA – West Java International Airport (BIJB) will be having special guests. A number of businessmen from the Middle East to Africa will visit the airport project located in District Kertajati, Majalengka, West Java.
The presence of the guests is still in a series of Indonesia-Middle East Annual Gathering on Economy (IMAGE 2017) activities. They will visit the BIJB project on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
Head of Government and Cooperation Bureau Taufik Budi Santoso said IMAGE 2017 is an activity initiated by the Middle East Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As part of the promotion of trade, tourism and investment in West Java, BIJB will be introduced directly.
“This is one of the programs supporting Indonesia’s economic diplomacy by introducing the existing potential by inviting business actors in the Middle East countries,” said Santoso, Monday, October 9, 2017
Therefore, BIJB which is a strategic project of West Java Provincial Government will be directly introduced to the business actors of those countries. The visit will be directly accompanied by Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra. In addition to the airport that is currently in the process of work they will also see the Aerocity area.
West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan said that although Middle Eastern countries’ investment is still not as much as Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Hongkong but so far a number of cooperation is often woven. One of them is Sister Province cooperation with the State of Khartoum, Sudan.
“Therefore, through this activity various things will be woven by offering business opportunities, because this is from Middle Eastern countries plus, yes plus Africa,” said the man who is familiarly called Aher after opening IMAGE 2017 at Gedung Sate. So far, some sectors that can be cultivated by Middle Eastern countries are quite a lot of them, including tourism, infrastructure and food security.
IMAGE officially opened by Ahmad Heryawan, attended by Expert Staff of Economic Diplomacy and Director of Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a number of Ambassadors of Middle East countries in Jakarta and Ambassador of Indonesia in Middle East countries, as well as entrepreneurs from Middle East.
This activity is an annual program of the Directorate of Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia which this year held together with the Government of West Java Province. Implementation of IMAGE 2017 in year 7 (seven) this is part of economic diplomacy efforts conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in bridging regional desire to seek various opportunities for economic cooperation with various parties abroad.
Recorded 52 entrepreneurs from various countries in the Middle East participated in this activity, the largest number of participants during the seven years of IMAGE. They come from different business line backgrounds such as consumer goods, food, general trading, fashion, furniture, hotels, construction, to building materials.
The main activities that will be carried out in this IMAGE activity in addition to visits to BIJB, will also include Business Forum (West Java investment potential presentation and opportunity), one-on-one business meeting with West Java entrepreneurs as well as exhibition of handicraft products and field visits to various industrial centers, and fashion shows. IMAGE activities are expected to facilitate the realization of mutually beneficial business agreements between West Java and the Middle East.
