TANGERANG, (KUMPARAN), – PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is preparing to fly pilgrims scheduled to begin on 17 July to 15 August 2018.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia Pahala N Mansury said if Garuda is interested to use Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, as one of the embarkation of Hajj. Until now it still continues to discuss with relevant agencies.
“This is one of the things we will discuss, between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Transportation how for the pilgrims who will depart from West Java, especially here Sumedang and Majalengka, whether they will be departed from the Kertajati or what kind of departure,” Pahala said the launch of the Bring More Home program at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, on Thursday (12/4).
The airline with GIAA issuer code is preparing as many as 14 units of wide-body aircraft for the implementation of Haj this year.
According to Pahala, the 14 aircraft that will serve the pilgrim flight consists of three aircraft units namely B747-400 aircraft, five B777-300ER aircraft and six A330-300 / 200 aircraft.
Pahala explained, this year Garuda will carry about 107,959 pilgrims. This figure is not much different from the number of pilgrims last year who only fly 107,000 pilgrims.
“We will carry lesser pilgrims and the number of kloternya 278 kloter of 9 embarkation, so if in terms of numbers and kloternya it is more or less the same as we transported last year,” he explained.
