Jakarta – Construction of Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java continues to be accelerated. Construction of this mega project will be completed in November 2017.
According to Ministry of Transportation data quoted detikFinance, Monday (7/8/2017), this airport will become the second largest airport in Indonesia after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng.
This is indicated by the large airport capacity of both passenger capacity and capacity of landed plane and parking.
Director of Business Development and Investment of BIJB Kertajati Erwin Syahputra explained that currently the airport development project covering an area of 1,800 hectares and aerocity of 3,490 hectares as of July 23, 2017 has reached 49.7898%.
When completed later, this airport will be able to accommodate 5.6 million passengers per year. For passenger service, the airport will implement international airport service standards.
On the air side, the airport will be equipped with two runways alias runway measuring 3.500×60 meters each and 3,000×60 meters.
Meanwhile, in the apron area of 228,994 square meters. With the area, Kertajati Airport apron will be able to accommodate 2 Boeing 747 or Boeing 777, 10 Boeing 737-900, 12 Boeing 737-400.
As an airport prepared to be an international airport, the airport has already passed access to Cikopo-Palimanan toll road which has an exit at Kertajati. (Dna / hns)
