West Java International Forum participants will directly visit the BIJB project

BANDUNG – West Java Investor Forum held in Bandung directly impact on strategic projects in West Java. One of them is investors in Middle East and Malaysia countries began to explore and will visit the project West Java International Airport (BIJB), Kertajati, Majalengka.

West Java Investor Forum held by Bank Indonesia Representative Office (BI) in cooperation with Islamic Corporation for Development of the Private Sector – Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is centered in Gedung Sate, Bandung City. This activity was held two days in a row from Friday (6/10) to Saturday (7/10). Businessmen in rich countries from Middle East, OIC and Malaysia participated in the forum.

“Some of them will come from Malaysia Airport (Manager of Kuala Lumpur International Airport) to get there,” said Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Eka Putra after attending West Java Investor Forum. In that opportunity Virda also presented a project worth Rp 2 trillion to the investors.

Virda certainly welcomed the direct presence of investors from several countries to be able to help develop the airport side of the airport. Because BIJB targeted to operate in mid-2018 is still a lot that can be developed, especially commercial areas.

“Who knows can find cooperation opportunities because basically this airport operates with minimum operation because we are still looking for partners for tenant, IT, waste management, other supporters yes .. we prepare now only basic need that is airport,” he explained.

Not to mention the Aerocity Area that will be integrated with the airport for the development of the surrounding economy. According to Virda, Aerocity area estimated to swallow Rp 10 Trillion for the liberation of the region would certainly require a lot of incoming investment.

“Not to mention the aerocity, it is offered in the commercial area, it is the biggest aerocity, we need to build the new area for the land acquisition needs to reach Rp 10 trillion yet for business in it,” he said.

He sees the synergy that is now being undertaken can certainly encourage the investment sector that ultimately for the economy in West Java.

“We see the Middle East has potential, I’ve come to Abu Dabi, then to Doha to offer investment, just what kind of mechanism,” he said.

Alwi Shihab as the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the Middle East states, IDB as an international financial institution itself has a budget of 5 billion USD to be invested. The budget can also be used for some stretegis projects in the largest province in Indonesia. He thinks the countries in the Middle East are quite interested in the project in West Java.

“West Java is a place that they are interested in culture, closer to the soul of Middle Eastern people, rather than investing in Bali.” This advantage should be demonstrated, “he added.

He hopes that local governments can take this cooperation opportunity where IDB and ICT can become entities. “Now we are together with the local government to explain what the priorities and given to investors in order to smooth their plans,” he explained.

Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar said, the presence of investors from the Middle East to West Java could certainly be a breath of fresh air. West Java provincial government and also the majority shareholder of BIJB continue to boost tourism and infrastructure in some areas.

“If you look at many existing projects here, LRT Bandung Raya, Cirebon Raya, BIJB, and also some toll road segment.This is what we expect to grow the future of tourism in West Java .. Culturally we are also different from the Middle East enggak. we also want halal Life style because of the big market .. Investment from Islamic countries so that we know the development of sharia economy, “he added.
