PT BIJB Gathers 24 International Airlines

JAKARTA – West Java International Airport (BIJB) is targeted to start operating in mid 2018. As an airport that will serve both domestic and international flights, some airlines have also expressed interest.

Interest was immediately followed up by PT BIJB where 24 international airlines will gather in the capital, Jakarta. The present airline is a member of the Indonesian Board of Airlines Representative (BAR Indo) flight association.

Managing Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra will introduce the airport in Kertajati sub-district, Majalengka, to a number of airlines in the BIJB exposure event at Century Park Hotel, Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

“The cooperation between PT BIJB and the airlines must be done in terms of development of routes to connect BIJB with outside countries,” said Virda, Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

Virda said, as an airport which is now a national strategic project, it is important that BIJB facilitate the airline for the realization of business deals that will be mutually beneficial.

“We believe that West Java International Airport will become an International and Domestic Center to support the growth of aviation business in Indonesia, therefore, cooperation between BIJB and airlines must be done,” said Virda.

Head of Aeronauctical Department of PT BIJB Agus Kemal hoped that the association of BAR Indo with his party could certainly produce a decision by participating in the airline to be able to fly from the airport in the north of Jabar.

“That the event is in the future where the airlines can participate and can join to fill the flight route in BIJB,” said Agus.

BAR Indo Ubay Ihsandi chairman also put great expectations with the holding of this meeting. “Hopefully airlines can provide benefits also in this business and also fly directly to Kertajati” he said.
