(SINDONEWS), MAJALENGKA,- After serving flights from Kertajati to Surabaya, Citilink plans to add flight routes from West Java International Airport (BIJB). There are several areas that have now entered into plans to expand the destination area of the airline subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia.
To realize the plan, Citilink continues to coordinate with BIJB. Mapping related to the interest of prospective passengers is one of the themes that are being discussed.
“We are still coordinating with the BIJB, of course. Collecting data, traffic and passengers. Where is the direction of many passengers from the direction of Majalengka and Cirebon. (BIJB) this will collect some areas, both from (East) West Java and (regions). West, Central Java. Later, God willing, we will open other routes after knowing where the passenger is moving from Kertajati Airport, “Chief of Operation Citilink Arry Kalzaman Sudarmadji told SINDOnews recently.
From the results of the coordination, Arry admitted that his party already had an overview of which route would be opened soon from BIJB. However, further studies are still needed to decide on the new destination area.
“The picture is already there. Maybe we will go to Sumatra, but this is still waiting for coordination with BIJB.”
Regarding the availability of aircraft, Arry explained Citilink was really ready to add new routes. Moreover, this year they got the addition of new aircraft.
“Citilink itself this year brought three new aircraft, Airbus 320. So it is enough to open new flights again, or additional frequencies that already exist now,” he said.
Until now, Citilink has become the only airline that serves flights from BIJB Kertajati. The airline has been flying at BIJB since June 8, 2018.
