Cipali Toll Road Officially Open For Public

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to inaugurate the construction of toll-palimanan Cikopo (Cipali) along 116.75 Kilometers (Km) on Saturday (06/13/2015). This is the longest toll expressway outside the Jakarta-Merak toll road.

Director General (DG) of Highways Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Hediyanto W Husaini said the inauguration plan Cipali toll accelerated from Monday (6/15/2015) to Saturday.

“Yes accelerated its inauguration. Present President Jokowi, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan. The opening at 09:00,” he said, Jakarta, Friday (12/06/2015).

Hediyanto explained, the toll road connecting Jakarta-Cikampek toll road and toll-Pejagan palimanan stretches along 116.75 Km. And touted to be the longest toll in Indonesia. “Yes, if outside the Jakarta-Merak, the longest,” he said.

This freeway, built by PT Lintas Marga Sedaya. Cipali toll will cut the distance Cikampek-palimanan up to 40 kilometers instead of passing through the Pantura Line.

About the readiness, Hediyanto ensure, Cipali Toll Road is 100 percent ready for operation. The whole construction of access roads and support facilities, he added, only takes two years. While acceleration takes three to four months.

“No more road construction anyway, all right. Two weeks ago I watched only live painting, markings, rest areas, gas stations, while the course is ready for operation,” he explained.

The presence of the freeway is expected to break the bottleneck that often occur in the path of the Pantur Line and will save travel time when Lebaran.
