Flights at Husein Airport will be moved to Kertajati

DETIK.COM (JAKARTA), – To encourage traffic at the Java Bararat International Airport (BIJB) the government wants to move the operations of the airline at Husein Sastranegara Airport to the airport that has just been operational this year.

The Director of Airport of the Ministry of Transportation, Polana B. Pramesti, agreed that currently there is still more air traffic at Husein Sastranegara Airport. For this reason, the government will transfer it to BIJB.

However, to do this, it is necessary to develop infrastructure facilities around BIJB. This development is the domain of the local government.

“What is clear now is that accessibility is prepared, other infrastructure. In the past, Kertajati was prepared, one of which was to prepare infrastructure such as hotels, commercial areas, that’s what we are waiting for from the regions. We are ready to develop it,” he said at the BKPM Building, Jakarta, Tuesday ( 09/25/2018).

BIJB itself is also currently under development such as the addition of a 3,000 meter runway. Currently the BIJB runway is only 2,500 meters.

“On progress. The target is this year,” he said.

BIJB itself is now operating. But the servant is currently still used for Umrah.

According to Polana, access is one of the problems with the absence of regular flights in BIJB because of the lack of access to the airport.

“Yes, one of the problems is access, then other infrastructure,” he concluded.
