Ridwan Kamil Agrees to Accelerate Full Commercialization of BIJB

JAKARTA, (METROTVNEWS), – West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil agreed to accelerate the realization of the use of West Java International Airport (BIJB) for commercial flights. The permit to continue the run way extension and the polemic experienced by the shareholders has been completed.

“The airport has been inaugurated but has not been maximized. It turns out that there are still obstacles at the level of the shareholders, now it’s finished, all clear,” said Emil after the meeting at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Maritime Affairs Building, Jakarta, Monday, October 1, 2018 .

Emil ensured that the polemic of shareholder agreement among BIJB shareholders was coordinated with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. Investors who have a large share in the Limited Participation Fund (RDPT) can also be involved in strategic decisions in turn.

“With the help of the Coordinating Minister (Luhut), the things that are shareholders are broken and fair, meaning that there is a rolling board of directors. If the directors ask permanently, they are afraid there are things that are less than optimal, so thank God, as of today Kertajati’s business is complete,” he said.

Regarding the runway, the airport in Kertajati Majalengka has only 2,500 meters of asphalt length from the development target of up to 3,000 meters in length. The size is a condition for the needs of aircraft with international direct flight routes whose permits need to be in the Governor of West Java.

“The run way target is completed in December, for wide aircraft only,” he said.

Semantra, President Director of Angkasa Pura II Muhamad Awaluddin welcomed the decision made by Emil to accelerate the function of the second largest airport after Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The BIJB, which was inaugurated in May 2018, was hampered by the transition of number one in West Java after the elections.

“The shareholder agreement must be fast, Mr. Coordinating Minister (Luhut), giving me one week from now. The two shares remain 25 percent because that is what we want to review. Angkasapura II’s equity partnership remains 25 percent,” he explained.

Awaluddin also confirmed that the task of adding a large number of taxi ways and aprons has now been completed. Only me, specifically the runway which is the responsibility of Anggakasa Pura II is still stalled because it has not received permission from the Governor of West Java in the Ahmad Heriawan era and the PJ era Governor of West Java M. Iriawan.

“I have written to the Governor of West Java when Pak Aher was in May 2018. Then, again, when PJ West Java Governor Pak Iriawan was in August 2018, the two letters have not been answered,” he explained.

According to Awaluddin, the Governor of Emil is now promising to issue a land use loan right for the addition of the runway in the near future. The letter will be used as the basis for the contractor to refer to work until the end of December 2018.

“We are waiting for the letter as soon as possible and the contractor is ready to work. It is targeted to be completed by the end of this year, the three months to December will hopefully be complete and there are no obstacles,” he concluded.
