Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi is still working on West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, to be used for hajj departure this year.
“We are trying (for the departure of Hajj can be from BIJB),” he said, when found in Pusdai, Bandung, Wednesday (19/07/2018).
The planned departure of Hajj through the airport, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on May 24, has not received the blessing from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Because, still constrained related to the shelter of pilgrims who are currently still concentrated in Embarkation Bekasi.
Touched about the certainty whether or not the airport was used for hajj departure, Budi has not been willing to give certainty. He even suggested that the problem be asked directly to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
“Ask the same Minister of Religious Affairs (Lukman Hakim Saifudin),” he said.
In the same location, Pj West Java Governor M. Iriawan also still trying to make the pilgrims from West Java could pass through BIJB can be realized.
He will communicate again with the Minister of Religion related to the plan.
“It is in finalization, I will discuss with the Minister of Religious Affairs once again,” he said.
Iriawan certainly hope big BIJB can be used for hajj departure this year. “That I have to say, I hope there are some kloter (candidate pilgrims) can fly from there (BIJB),” he said.
Even so, he added, BIJB is ready for use. Even in October there will be umroh pilgrims who will depart through the new airport.
