KedaiPena.Com - President Director of PT Jawa Barat International Airport (BIJB) Salahuddin Rafi said he was optimistic that flights would soon recover in the new normal era.

PT BIJB, which manages Kertajati Airport, Majalengka, is ready to serve passengers and aircraft in the new normal era to face Corona by promoting health protocols.

"The economy and tourism in Majalengka and the surrounding area are starting to stretch, becoming a positive signal of the revival of flights at Kertajati Airport," Rafi told reporters on Monday (07/06/2020).

Rafi explained, all provisions in the health protocol were implemented including disinfection of public facilities, the use of masks, portable hand sanitizers and changing public service facilities without touch of a hand.

Rafi, as he was called, emphasized that, like PT Angkasa Pura II's managed airports, Kertajati implements digital platform services so as to reduce physical contact.

Included in the context of health checks and health related travel documents, at Kertajati the Port Health Office staff are also always ready to serve.

In fact, Rafi continued, to support the mobility of prospective passengers, Perum DAMRI management is also ready to operate buses on the Kertajati route to a number of destinations.

In line with this, Rafi continued, the airlines were ready to return to serve Kertajati Airport, Majalengka.

"The airline is Lion Air, Citilink, AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines," said Rafi.

Rafi said, specifically the readiness of Malaysia Airlines was apparent from the flight schedule plan of the airline from the neighboring country, which included flights twice a week to Kertajati.

As is known Malaysia Airlines flew first route Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - Kertajati (KJT) - Kuala Lumpur (KUL) on Thursday (02/13/2020).

Malaysia Airlines plane landed smoothly at 19.45 WIB at Kertajati Airport carrying 71 passengers. Then the B737-800 returned to Kuala Lumpur carrying 171 passengers, some of them pilgrims.
