1. Visitor’s visa shall be granted to Foreigners who will travel to the Territory of Indonesia in the context of government duty visit, education, socio-culture, tourism, business, family affairs, journalism, or layover to continue traveling to other countries.
2. Visitor’s visa as intended in point 1 may be granted to:
a. (One)-time-trips;
b. Several-time-trips.
3. Visitor’s visa for 1 (one)-time trips shall be granted to Foreigners who will conduct the following activities:
a. Tourism;
b. Family affairs;
c. Socials;
d. Arts and culture;
e. Government duties;
f. Non-commercial sports;
g. Comparative study, crash course, and brief training;
h. Providing guidance, extension, and training in the application and innovation of industrial technology for the purpose of improving the quality and design of industrial products as well as overseas marketing cooperation for Indonesia;
i. Doing emergency and urgent works;
j. Journalism that has obtained permit from the competent authorities;
k. Non-commercial filmmaking and has obtained a permit from the competent authorities;
l. Holding business talks;
m. Purchasing goods;
n. Giving a talk/making a speech or attending a seminar;
o. Attending international exhibitions;
p. Attending a meeting convened by the head office or the representative in Indonesia;
q. Conducting an audit, production quality control, or inspecting company branches in Indonesia;
r. Prospective expatriate workers for competence test in working;
s. Continuing travel to other countries;
t. Joining in Means of Transportation located in the Territory of Indonesia.
4. Visa for several-time-trips shall be granted to Foreigners who will conduct the following activities:
a. Family visit;
b. Business visit;
c. Government duty visit.
5. Foreigners from certain countries may be exempted from the obligation to have a Visitor’s visa to enter the Territory of Indonesia.
6. Certain countries as intended in point 5 shall be stipulated by virtue of a Presidential Regulation with due observance of the principle of reciprocity and mutual benefit principle.
7. Visitor’s visa exemption other than being granted to Foreigners from certain countries may also be granted to skippers, pilot captains, or crew who are on duty in a Means of Transportation.
8. Foreigners from certain countries and skippers, pilot captains, or crew who are on duty in a Means of Transportation exempted from the obligation to have a visitor’s visa may enter and exit the Territory of Indonesia through all the Immigration Checkpoints.
9. Visitor’s visa may be granted to Foreigners from certain countries on their arrival at certain Immigration Checkpoints.
10. Visitor’s visa as intended in the aforementioned point 9 shall constitute a Visitor’s visa on arrival granted to conduct the following activities:
a. Tourism;
b. Family affairs;
c. Socials;
d. Arts and culture;
e. Government duties;
f. Non-commercial sports;
g. Comparative study, crash course, and brief training;
h. Providing guidance, extension, and training in the application and innovation of industrial technology for the purpose of improving the quality and design of industrial products as well as overseas marketing cooperation for Indonesia;
i. Doing emergency and urgent works;
j. Journalism that has obtained permit from the competent authorities;
k. Non-commercial filmmaking and has obtained a permit from the competent authorities;
l. Holding business talks;
m. Purchasing goods;
n. Giving a talk/making a speech or attending a seminar;
o. Attending international exhibitions;
p. Attending a meeting convened by the head office or the representative in Indonesia;

t. Joining in Means of Transportation located in the Territory of Indonesia.
11. For certain matters, visitor’s visa on arrival may also be granted to Foreigners not coming from certain countries, namely:
a. Not having the Representative of the Republic of Indonesia in their country;
b. Will conduct a sudden or urgent activity, or;
c. Entering the Territory of Indonesia through seaports, airports, or other places not constituting an Immigration Checkpoint or constituting an Immigration Checkpoint but not stipulated as an Immigration Checkpoint for visitor’s visa on arrival;
d. At the request of the Government or private institution after obtaining an approval from the Minister or the appointed official.
12. Visitor’s visa on arrival shall be granted by taking the mutual benefit principle and the principle of not posing security disturbance into account.
13. Visitor’s visa on arrival may also be granted to special economic zones that have been stipulated in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.
